Hi Leaders,

Upcoming in the month of April, there will be a Sec Segment Leaders Gathering. I believed most of us enjoyed the gathering last month hearing the testimonies of God's working in the lives of individuals and not forgetting the OLD CHANG KEE snacks. Also, the gathering helps to facilitate familiarities amongst ourselves; across sub-segments as we are the Biggest segment in the Youth Division.

Well, the coming gathering is going to be Fun and Exciting too. Pastor John will be sharing on the 2nd Quarter of the Year's Program and also leading us into a Brain-Storming Session for creative ideas & intiatives for the upcoming Cell outreach on 24 May. So start dreaming now and come prepare to share and contribute the ideas. Also, there will still be testimonies sharing and snacks too.

Again, each cell groups is to contribute a testimony and email them to me or your Area Pastor. Dateline: 5 April

So do look forward and mark out in your calendars ya and expect God to speak, minister and inspire.

Date: 10 April, Thursday Venue: Blk 40A Room 1 Time :7.30-1000pm
Have a blessed Good Friday and Easter Weekend.

just thought i'd share this with you guys!

i just realised while i was doing quiet time that God really answers prayers.
in the midst of all my endless worries, (which are essentially pointless) that He really answers them when you're not noticing.

i remember at the start of the year worrying soooo much about how i was going to apply for universities/scholarships with my ultra pathetic CCA record (which only has the list of things that i've participated in, my CCA teacher didn't even know me then)
but now, i have a list of things to testify of God's wonderful grace!
1) i/c for broadway (hamzah isn't as bad as i thought, he called me back today! and trust me, that's a miracle in itself)
2) i'm doing the syf performance and i just got an extra part! (okay, to me it's a bit of an affirmation though i know i'm doing it only because i'm the biggest among the rest of them)
3) my teacher i/cs know my name! ((: (so at least i'll get some extra input into my less than decent testimonial at the end of the year.)

i just realised i had all those happening for me when i actually did quiet time. i cannot tell you how grateful i am to the Father for providing all this for me.
really. to think i never noticed them the day they were presented to me.
i did pray for those things in a vague general way.
and faithfully, He answered.
so yes, we have a gracious, generous, faithful God that <3 you WHOLEHEARTEDLY!
((:

so whenever you have anything on your mind, you know who to run too!

Hi Everyone...

How has everyone been? I din see any of you last weekend cos of PEW.

Leader Segment Gathering
I was really amazed and blessed by the sharing and testimonies shared at the segment meeting. I really saw God at work in everyone's life and even our members' lives. Donna did a good job sharing her testimony in front of so many people. It was also a great time where we can miggle with the other sub segment's leaders, sharing and having refreshments together. Hope those of you who were there were also blessed. It was a proof that testimonies really builds and encourages everyone, so I would like to encourage everyone to start collecting testimonies from your cell members. You will be surprise by God and be greatly encouraged by what they write. God is at work in each one's life though sometimes we can't see that outwardly.
FOR those WHO COULDN'T join us, we missed you greatly but don't need to feel sad, cos there is another one coming in April.

MLWM
Tonight is MLWM, please do come and hear what Pastor Derek has to say. It's important to hear what God has placed in his heart as he is our Senior Pastor.

Leader's Cell
This Friday 7 March, we are having our leader cell at 7.30pm at room 303. Please do come prepared for these 3 questions.

1) What do your expect from this cell?
2) What do you envision this cell to be like?
3) What can you contribute to this cell for it to be what your envision it to be.

Prayer
Please continue to remember these few items in prayers.
1) ICamp
2) Our Blessing Campaign

Okkie, that should be all...

Will be praying for you.

Hi dear beloved leaders...

Some of you came for the leader cell last week and I pray that you've been blessed and encouraged. For those who could not come, here's what we shared. Please take time to read, beacuse it's important.

1) Mindset has to Change

We want to build an encouraging culture among us. We need to know that it's not the results that matter but it's about how everyone does their best and tries. We need to learn to celebrate when God is working among us even if it means that there is only one salvation. Examples that I shared were 1) the blessing campaign, if we bless 1 we celebrate, if we bless 50 we also celebrate. We need to learn to encourage each other for trying. It's not the results but the process of us blessing others. 2) Cell Outreach, we celebrate even if our members only managed to bring 1 cos at least they are trying to reach their friends. It is not our strength when things happened but GOD. Let's learn to ENCOURAGE one another for trying. ENCOURAGE each other to try harder and ENCOURAGE each other no matter what the results may be because our GOD is great and HE is working among us. Heb 10:24 ' and let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds."

2) Blessing Campaign

Let's enourage each other and our members to bless. I know it's not easy, even I struggle with it, I was so afraid and fearful of being rejected, God knows too and that He rejoices when we try to bless even if we are rejected. I also shared that this blessing campaign is here to stay, it's going to be a tool that we will use for the whole year. The mindset is not to make the person accept Christ, if the person gave his life, praise the Lord, but this tool is more for us to bless our friends, relatives, even strangers. It's an extention of God's love meeting people's needs. It's a tool for us to speak into our friends' lives and letting them know that we are praying for them even if they are not Christian or coming to our church. Through sharing, we will also overcome our fears. So let's encourage ourself and our members to share and bless without having the pressure of them accepting Christ. Let GOD do His job of convicting our friends. Our job is just to enjoy the process of blessing people.

3) ICamp

Please encourage your members to sign up. Let's help one another to remind our members not to sign up last minute.

4) Cell Outreach

Please remember to send in your report for your cell outreach. I shared that this reporting is not for me to point finger at who did not do a good job or who did well. But as a pastor together with the rest of the youth pastors we are learning to follow up on what we ask our leaders to do. We do not want to ask you guys to do an outreach and not know what has happened. For your guys as leaders is more for you to be accountable to what has happened. So please remember to send in your report. Please also pass me all yoru claims for the event.

5) Sec Segment Leader Gathering

There is a sec segment leader gathering on 28 Feb at 7.30pm... Donna will be representing our segment to share her testimony.

6) Cell

I shared about my heart regarding the leader cell. I know some of you are struggling to come and it takes extra effort for you to attend leader cell. My main purposes for having a cell are 1) Edification, for me to edify you as a cell leader. 2) Communication, for us to communicate and tighten our flow of communication in the area of ministry. 3) Build a Community, for us to have a safe environment to share and a community to grow and learn together.

So starting from March, we are going to meet every Fri, 7.30pm at room 303. We will function as a normal cell.

For the next cell on 7 March 08, Please think through these 3 questions:
1) What do your expect from this cell?
2) What do you envision this cell to be like?
3) What can you contribute to this cell for it to be what your envision it to be.

Derrick will be doing worship and I will bring one of my new game for ice-breaker.

Okie... I will see you guys soon. May this week be exciting and encouraging to you.

Ps deb

iCamp

Hi Everyone!

iCamp sign up has officially closed. I’ve received feedback from leaders and members alike that the sign up period is very short. I apologize that we’ve to fix such an early closing date. In light of the camp being in the March school holidays, which is coming really soon, the camp com will need to have the sign ups earlier to ensure that we have sufficient time to prepare for the camp. With the short sign up period, we’ll need your every help to remind your members to sign up early. We’re extending the sign up for the camp by one more week till 24 Feb. (any later we’ll really run into problems for organizingJ). Attached is the sign up form. Please forward it to your members if they’ve yet to have a copy. They’ll need their parents’ signature and the full payment when signing up this weekend.

iCamp will be a time where we seek to instill in every of our young people the reality of God’s presence and power in their lives, as they learnt to relate to God and live their lives in sync with their identity as sons and daughters of our Most High God. Through our sharing and ministry times, and times of just engaging in games and activities with other youths, we seek to present not just another fun camp, but one which our youths can leave camp knowing that they’ve encountered God. As such, we’ll really appreciate for everyone in this leadership team, across the board from secondary to campus segment leaders, to uphold the camp in prayer. For at the end of the day, after all the planning and rara-ing, it’s God Himself who makes the difference.

Also at this point, once again, the invitation for camp is open to other members of our ministry, even though the target group is primarily for secondary segment youths. Having the older brothers and sisters in Christ with our younger youths is definitely a booster for us as they’re more mature and can support the camp in many ways. Hence, if you belong to the older segments, and either yourself or your members feel that you want to become a part of the camp, you’re definitely welcome to sign up!

Secondary Segment Camp: iCAMP

Hi Everyone!

There’s a camp coming up this March for our Sec segment. The name of the camp is iCamp. “I” for the following:
-identity in Christ
-I am a new creation 2 Cor 5:17
-I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me Phil 4:13

So ‘I’ is not about me-mine-myself but rather, discovering our identity in Christ, and being transformed and empowered by Him. At the end of the camp, we want to believe that all our youths will encounter God, grow in their relationship with Him, and are ready to reach out to their world for Jesus! Fun & friendship building opportunities are definitely part of the package tooJ

Details of the camp are as follows:
Dates: 11-14 Mar
Venue: GB Campsite (Serangoon)
Cost: $60
Do note there will be a pre-camp for group leaders on 10 Mar at same venue. (Similar to adventure camp)

Details and sign up forms will also be released through mass publicity next week onward. The window period of sign up this year will be shorter. Hence, I’ll need your help to remind your members to sign up early.

If you’re leading the older segments and are wondering why you’re on this mailing list, please read on….

We NEED camp group leaders. We’ll really appreciate if you can volunteer yourself or sound out your members who are interested to sign up for the camp too. It’ll be a great time to invest into the lives of the younger ones. So do keep a lookout for the publicity coming soon. Meanwhile if you have any enquiries feel free to email me. Thank you!

PRAYER

hey guys, just wanted to say something out of my quiet time.

i know the kids aren't exactly the way we would wish them to be.
noisy, rowdy, inattentive.
but these are the things that we can't change.
there is nothing we can do to change that part of them, except to PRAY.

if you know me, you'll know that prayer isn't exactly my favourite thing to do.
i either drift off in my own thoughts or end up falling asleep, like at overnight prayer.
total disaster.
one reason why i'm not desperate to be at corporate prayer.
during my quiet time, i just felt God telling me that i have not been praying enough.

but i just wanted to encourage you guys that the first month of the year is nearly up, that we'd all start to pray specifically for the kids.
especially for their behaviour and attitude towards God because on He can convict their hearts and turn them to Him.

remember that when you pray, you're ruling with God.
so for things out of our control, we'd just pray about it.

i'm looking forward to seeing miraculous changes in the attitudes of our kids!
