Hi dear beloved leaders...
Some of you came for the leader cell last week and I pray that you've been blessed and encouraged. For those who could not come, here's what we shared. Please take time to read, beacuse it's important.
1) Mindset has to Change
We want to build an encouraging culture among us. We need to know that it's not the results that matter but it's about how everyone does their best and tries. We need to learn to celebrate when God is working among us even if it means that there is only one salvation. Examples that I shared were 1) the blessing campaign, if we bless 1 we celebrate, if we bless 50 we also celebrate. We need to learn to encourage each other for trying. It's not the results but the process of us blessing others. 2) Cell Outreach, we celebrate even if our members only managed to bring 1 cos at least they are trying to reach their friends. It is not our strength when things happened but GOD. Let's learn to ENCOURAGE one another for trying. ENCOURAGE each other to try harder and ENCOURAGE each other no matter what the results may be because our GOD is great and HE is working among us. Heb 10:24 ' and let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds."
2) Blessing Campaign
Let's enourage each other and our members to bless. I know it's not easy, even I struggle with it, I was so afraid and fearful of being rejected, God knows too and that He rejoices when we try to bless even if we are rejected. I also shared that this blessing campaign is here to stay, it's going to be a tool that we will use for the whole year. The mindset is not to make the person accept Christ, if the person gave his life, praise the Lord, but this tool is more for us to bless our friends, relatives, even strangers. It's an extention of God's love meeting people's needs. It's a tool for us to speak into our friends' lives and letting them know that we are praying for them even if they are not Christian or coming to our church. Through sharing, we will also overcome our fears. So let's encourage ourself and our members to share and bless without having the pressure of them accepting Christ. Let GOD do His job of convicting our friends. Our job is just to enjoy the process of blessing people.
3) ICamp
Please encourage your members to sign up. Let's help one another to remind our members not to sign up last minute.
4) Cell Outreach
Please remember to send in your report for your cell outreach. I shared that this reporting is not for me to point finger at who did not do a good job or who did well. But as a pastor together with the rest of the youth pastors we are learning to follow up on what we ask our leaders to do. We do not want to ask you guys to do an outreach and not know what has happened. For your guys as leaders is more for you to be accountable to what has happened. So please remember to send in your report. Please also pass me all yoru claims for the event.
5) Sec Segment Leader Gathering
There is a sec segment leader gathering on 28 Feb at 7.30pm... Donna will be representing our segment to share her testimony.
6) Cell
I shared about my heart regarding the leader cell. I know some of you are struggling to come and it takes extra effort for you to attend leader cell. My main purposes for having a cell are 1) Edification, for me to edify you as a cell leader. 2) Communication, for us to communicate and tighten our flow of communication in the area of ministry. 3) Build a Community, for us to have a safe environment to share and a community to grow and learn together.
So starting from March, we are going to meet every Fri, 7.30pm at room 303. We will function as a normal cell.
For the next cell on 7 March 08, Please think through these 3 questions:
1) What do your expect from this cell?
2) What do you envision this cell to be like?
3) What can you contribute to this cell for it to be what your envision it to be.
Derrick will be doing worship and I will bring one of my new game for ice-breaker.
Okie... I will see you guys soon. May this week be exciting and encouraging to you.
Ps deb

iCamp
Hi Everyone!
iCamp sign up has officially closed. I’ve received feedback from leaders and members alike that the sign up period is very short. I apologize that we’ve to fix such an early closing date. In light of the camp being in the March school holidays, which is coming really soon, the camp com will need to have the sign ups earlier to ensure that we have sufficient time to prepare for the camp. With the short sign up period, we’ll need your every help to remind your members to sign up early. We’re extending the sign up for the camp by one more week till 24 Feb. (any later we’ll really run into problems for organizingJ). Attached is the sign up form. Please forward it to your members if they’ve yet to have a copy. They’ll need their parents’ signature and the full payment when signing up this weekend.
iCamp will be a time where we seek to instill in every of our young people the reality of God’s presence and power in their lives, as they learnt to relate to God and live their lives in sync with their identity as sons and daughters of our Most High God. Through our sharing and ministry times, and times of just engaging in games and activities with other youths, we seek to present not just another fun camp, but one which our youths can leave camp knowing that they’ve encountered God. As such, we’ll really appreciate for everyone in this leadership team, across the board from secondary to campus segment leaders, to uphold the camp in prayer. For at the end of the day, after all the planning and rara-ing, it’s God Himself who makes the difference.
Also at this point, once again, the invitation for camp is open to other members of our ministry, even though the target group is primarily for secondary segment youths. Having the older brothers and sisters in Christ with our younger youths is definitely a booster for us as they’re more mature and can support the camp in many ways. Hence, if you belong to the older segments, and either yourself or your members feel that you want to become a part of the camp, you’re definitely welcome to sign up!
Running the Race,
Peter Tan
